ABOUT THE UDVL

Establishment and objectives

Launched in February of 2022, the Ukraine Digital Verification Lab is an Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) project committed to the application of OSINT to the Russo-Ukrainian war and to the furtherance of OSINT methods and ethics. The project does this by conducting investigations and producing long-form reports, hosting a blog for short-form pieces on OSINT methods, ethics, and recent projects, and by incubating and disseminating novel methods through its dedicated emerging methods team. Reports from the UDVL center on humanitarian objectives and aim to provide thorough, verifiable reports for public education and legal use. Reports cleared for public use can be found on our website.

The project has secured support from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and seeks to expand its volunteer workforce in the Fall of 2022.
